Abstract

This article aims to determine the advantages and disadvantages related to the use of technological tools in virtual education due to COVID-19, under the perception of Colombian and Venezuelan teachers. A qualitative methodology was used for the study, applying a semi-structured interview to ten teachers from various institutions of basic, secondary and professional education in Barranquilla-Colombia and Maracaibo-Venezuela. The analysis of the data showed that the greatest advantage of using technological tools is access to dynamic classes, information and resources to reach any learning style, while the disadvantage lies in the little access to resources and platforms due to the low existing connectivity due to economic difficulties in families due to the pandemic. The study allows to conclude that technological tools undoubtedly provide various opportunities to improve teaching and learning processes, promote interactions between school members and become a fundamental support for teachers.
