Abstract

The present research aimed to analyze the family resilience approach in terms of its belief system, organizational patterns and communication processes. The study was based on the systemic theory of Walsh (1998, 2004). The methodology used responds to documentary research (Arias, 2012) of an argumentative type, in addition to stating the theoretical positions of resilience, inferences are also made around the information that become valuable inputs to conclude. Final considerations, the crisis and permanent stress impact the entire family, generating not only individual dysfunctions, but also relational conflicts. Family processes mitigate the effects of stress on all family members and their relationships: while protection processes promote resilience, cushioning stress. Resilience has three core elements that are the belief system, organizational patterns and communication processes. All families can be resilient, leading to improved efforts and strengthening certain critical processes.
